· · · Homura Tales · No.8 — Dozing on a Summer Afternoon On a brilliant July afternoon, an old rattan chair sits upon the wooden veranda. The former artisan, who once spent his days crafting dried fruits, now watches the hydrangeas and listens to the rhythmic pulse of cicadas. Beside him, a small plate holds rehydrated dried apricots, glowing with a soft, amber luster. As he lifts a piece with a silver spoon, the concentrated sweetness melts upon his tongue, a gentle echo of summers past. A warm breeze stirs the screen door, carrying the scent of garden soil. Time seems to slow, circulating within these quiet, amber memories. He reaches for another piece. Somewhere in the distance, a wind chime rings, its fragile melody dissolving into the shimmering haze of the summer heat, leaving only a lingering sense of peace.
