Yamaka Tsuyuno Japanese Yunomi Set
Seiichi Hayashi Rabbit Tea Cups
This five-piece set of Seiichi Hayashi tea cups, known as the Tsuyuno series by Yamaka, features delicate rabbit motifs on soft, color-washed ceramic bodies. Each cup serves as a canvas for a blend of traditional Japanese illustration and functional everyday ware, bringing a rhythmic, seasonal sensibility to the tea table. Seiichi Hayashi is recognized for a distinct visual language that balances modern graphic design with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The rabbit, or usagi, is a frequent presence in this imagery, often associated with longevity and the moon. In this series, the rabbits appear amidst subtle, blurred watercolor-style backgrounds that represent the changing tones of the landscape. These pieces were curated for the shop as a complete set. They are intended for quiet use, holding warm tea or water, where the weight and texture of the ceramic can be felt in the hand.
