Maison Homura works with fire and time. On one side, ingredients from the red earth of Vietnam, finished in Japan. On the other, objects shaped by Japanese hands — some newly carved, some kept since the Heisei years. Both leave our Fukuoka studio the same way: in a paulownia box, on a bed of fresh hinoki shavings.
Each figure is cut from a single piece of wood and painted with mineral pigment. Gold leaf on the ears and paws. A walnut base, a brass plate engraved with your own words.
Dorei are clay bells, hand-moulded and hand-painted in Kyoto, rung to clear the air of a room. These were gathered from shrines and private estates — each one already has a life behind it.
